President Yoweri Museveni has presented a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser VXR to the newly installed Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Bonaventure Bosco Gubazire, following his appointment to lead the Catholic Church institution.

The vehicle was handed over by Finance Minister Henry Musasizi, who represented the President at Gubazire’s episcopal ordination and installation ceremony held in Kabale on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Museveni’s gift was intended to congratulate Gubazire on his appointment and mark the beginning of his leadership of the diocese.
Gubazire succeeds Bishop Callistus Rubaramira, whose resignation was accepted by Pope Leo XIV in July 2026 after serving as head of the diocese for more than two decades.
Before his appointment, Gubazire served as rector of St. Martin of Tours Formation House in Ejisu, Ghana. He was ordained a priest in 2003 and holds a doctorate in philosophy from the University of San Carlos in the Philippines.
Kabale Diocese, established in 1966, serves Catholic communities in southwestern Uganda.
